-

Pak Suzuki Motor Company has officially revealed updated retail prices for its widely popular models, including the Suzuki Alto (all variants) and Suzuki Ravi. The new pricing structure will take effect on February 25, 2025.

According to the company’s statement, this adjustment reflects Suzuki’s ongoing efforts to improve vehicle quality and safety while responding to evolving market dynamics.

Revised Prices for Suzuki Models

Here’s a breakdown of the price changes:

  • Suzuki Alto VXR MT: Previously priced at Rs. 2,707,000, it will now cost Rs. 2,827,000, marking an increase of Rs. 120,000.
  • Suzuki Alto VXR AGS: The current price of Rs. 2,894,000 rises to Rs. 2,989,000, a hike of Rs. 95,000.
  • Suzuki Alto VXL AGS: Originally set at Rs. 3,045,000, the new price is Rs. 3,140,000, up by Rs. 95,000.
  • Suzuki Ravi Pickup: Moving from Rs. 1,856,000 to Rs. 1,956,000, this model sees a Rs. 100,000 increase.

New Withholding Tax Calculation

Alongside the price revision, the withholding tax (WHT) calculation for vehicles with engine capacities up to 850cc has shifted. Previously, the tax was fixed at Rs. 10,000 for filers and Rs. 30,000 for non-filers. Now, it’s based on a percentage of the vehicle’s value:

  • Filers: 0.5% of the vehicle’s price.
  • Non-Filers: 1.5% of the vehicle’s price.

This change applies to all listed models, as the Suzuki Alto variants and Ravi Pickup fall within the 850cc engine capacity category, if you want to check for other models you can try our new well customized Punjab Vehicle Token Tax New Calculator: New Rates 2025

Withholding Tax Before and After the Price Hike of Suzuki Alto

Let’s examine how the new prices and tax policy affect buyers:

  1. Suzuki Alto VXR MT
    • Old Price: Rs. 2,707,000
      • Filer WHT: Rs. 10,000
      • Non-Filer WHT: Rs. 30,000
    • New Price: Rs. 2,827,000
      • Filer WHT: 0.5% × 2,827,000 = Rs. 14,135
      • Non-Filer WHT: 1.5% × 2,827,000 = Rs. 42,405
    • Increase in WHT:
      • Filer: Rs. 4,135 more
      • Non-Filer: Rs. 12,405 more
  2. Suzuki Alto VXR AGS
    • Old Price: Rs. 2,894,000
      • Filer WHT: Rs. 10,000
      • Non-Filer WHT: Rs. 30,000
    • New Price: Rs. 2,989,000
      • Filer WHT: 0.5% × 2,989,000 = Rs. 14,945
      • Non-Filer WHT: 1.5% × 2,989,000 = Rs. 44,835
    • Increase in WHT:
      • Filer: Rs. 4,945 more
      • Non-Filer: Rs. 14,835 more
  3. Suzuki Alto VXL AGS
    • Old Price: Rs. 3,045,000
      • Filer WHT: Rs. 10,000
      • Non-Filer WHT: Rs. 30,000
    • New Price: Rs. 3,140,000
      • Filer WHT: 0.5% × 3,140,000 = Rs. 15,700
      • Non-Filer WHT: 1.5% × 3,140,000 = Rs. 47,100
    • Increase in WHT:
      • Filer: Rs. 5,700 more
      • Non-Filer: Rs. 17,100 more
  4. Suzuki Ravi Pickup
    • Old Price: Rs. 1,856,000
      • Filer WHT: Rs. 10,000
      • Non-Filer WHT: Rs. 30,000
    • New Price: Rs. 1,956,000
      • Filer WHT: 0.5% × 1,956,000 = Rs. 9,780
      • Non-Filer WHT: 1.5% × 1,956,000 = Rs. 29,340
    • Change in WHT:
      • Filer: Rs. 220 less
      • Non-Filer: Rs. 660 less
  • For the Alto variants, the shift to a percentage-based tax, combined with the price hike, significantly raises the WHT for both filers and non-filers. Non-filers face a steeper increase due to the 1.5% rate, which is triple that of filers.
  • Interestingly, the Ravi Pickup is an exception. Despite the price increase, its new WHT is slightly lower than the previous fixed rates, offering minor relief to buyers.
  • The difference between filer and non-filer WHT is now more pronounced, incentivizing tax compliance.

The price hike by Pak Suzuki Motor Company, effective February 25, 2025, coupled with the revised WHT calculation, impacts buyers differently based on their tax status. Filers benefit from a lower percentage rate, while non-filers bear a heavier burden.

For budget-conscious consumers, particularly those eyeing the Alto or Ravi, this could influence purchasing decisions. As market conditions evolve, staying informed about such changes is crucial for prospective car owners in Pakistan.
